Must-Know Bridal Makeup Tips for Singaporean Brides
As women, we always want our makeup to look good, most especially on our wedding day. With a lot of photo taking sessions and more than a handful of guests staring at you, it’s definitely one of the days when you want your makeup to be on its top shape. To help you achieve this, here are some bridal makeup tips that you can use before and one the day itself.
1. Check on pre-wedding makeup trials. You might already know the look that you want to achieve for your wedding day, but it’s also important that you do a full dressed rehearsal to ensure that your makeup perfectly matches your hairstyle and wedding dress. You don’t need to have your full hairdo if it’s too expensive. Just have your hair set in a similar style, so that you’ll get to see its full effect.
2. Cold teaspoons for puffy eyes. Waking up with puffy eyes on your special day is one of the things that each Singapore bride dread about. If you happen to wake up with tired looking eyes, simply put two metal teaspoons in your freezer for about two to five minutes, then apply it your eyelids. This trick will quickly improve the look of your eyes.
3. Wear water-resistant mascara. Even if you’re not the crying type, your wedding day is one of the events where people, including you, might get too emotional. So spare yourself from getting those raccoon eyes by wearing a water-resistant mascara.
4. Ice that surprise pimple. When you wake up with a surprise pimple on your cheek or forehead, do your best to not freak out and pop it, as it might make an explosive comeback on your face later on. The first thing that you should do is to ice it over for about 30 seconds, and apply some toothpaste. Let it rest for at least half an hour so that it can dry out your pimple. Apply some concealer afterwards, and the pimple is now gone.
5. Apply some primer. Although using primer is not part of your day-to-day beauty regimen, applying some will ensure that your skin is smooth and will make your foundation last throughout the day.
6. Match your foundation with your skin tone. A good foundation and skin tone match is always important especially on your wedding day. Since you’ll mostly be under the natural daylight during this day and be surrounded with camera flashes, make sure that your foundation match evenly and is well-blended with your neck as well.
7. Use some blush. Even with the heavy makeup that you’ll be wearing, Singapore brides should also ensure that they still look fresh and not too washed in photos. A good way to ensure this is to apply a subtle blush on the cheeks so that they’ll stay pink throughout the day.
8. Curl your lashes. Eyes are one of the important things to think about in order for you to look good in all of your photos. Have your eyelashes curled using a slightly heated lash curler for a longer lasting effect.
9. Go for white eye shadows. Another way to get beautiful eyes is to make sure that your eyelids look gorgeous. One way to do this is to apply white eye shadow on each eyelid, then applying the eye shadow colour of your choice in the creases. For a more natural look, stick with brown shades of eye shadows.
10. Prepare an emergency touch-up kit. Regardless of how careful you are with your makeup on your wedding day, it would still be better if you prepare and bring an emergency touch-up kit with you. Fill your touch-up kit with essentials like powder blush, lipstick, a small mirror, bobby pins, as well as some safety pins. You can just never be too prepared for your most special day!
